Colombian President to Pay State Visit to Korea

The Presidential Office said Colombian President Juan Santos will visit Korea for three days from the 14th at the invitation of President Lee Myung-bak.

Lee and Santos plan to hold a summit on the 15th to discuss trade investment collaboration, including a Korea-Colombia free trade agreement, and cooperation in resources, energy and infrastructure. They will also address collaboration in broadcasting and telecommunications and exchanges in culture.

Colombia was the only Latin American nation to send troops to the Korean War in 1950. Santos plans to visit the United Nations Command and the War Memorial of Korea as well as the demilitarized zone and hold meetings with key company CEOs. He will also look around industrial facilities.
