RFA: Russia Supplying N.Korea with Grain

Radio Free Asia (RFA) is reporting that Russia delivered nearly 17-thousand tons of grain to North Korea last month.

RFA quoted World Food Programme spokeswoman for North Korea Nana Skau to say that ten-thousand-200 tons of wheat and 66-hundred tons of wheat flour were sent to North Korea, which were distributed among twelve North Korean food processing plants.

It added that 22-thousand more tons of wheat and wheat flour would arrive in North Korea in September.

The Russian government said in early August that it would provide 50-thousand tons of food to North Korea. The ship carrying the first installment arrived in South Hamgyeong province in North Korea on August 19.
