New Mobile Payment Plan Hits Market

A domestic mobile service provider has introduced a cell phone payment plan that costs 45-hundred won or four dollars and 20 cents monthly and two won per second for voice calls.

Free Telecom provides three other deferred payment options including a 12-thousand won monthly fee with voice calls costing one-point-two won per second. Sending a text message costs 20 won.

These rates are 30 to 50 percent lower than those charged by the nation's three major mobile communications operators SK Telecom, Korea Telecom and LG U Plus.

But Free Telecom’s plan is expected to mainly target teenagers and middle-aged people who predominantly use voice calls over accessing wireless Internet on their mobiles.
