“US Strongly Supports 2nd Inter-Korea Nuke Talks”

South Korea’s top nuclear negotiator, Wi Sung-lac, said U.S. support is strong for the two Koreas to hold a second round of denuclearization talks. Wi has returned from his visit to the U.S.

Wi visited the U.S. last Wednesday and met with officials there and discussed ways to resume the talks after an inter-Korean meeting and North Korea-U.S. dialogue. Wi said that the U.S. displayed their support during his visit and said South Korea and the U.S. are waiting for a response from North Korea.

In addition, Wi said that South Korea and the U.S. both agree that violating South Korea’s rights to its assets in the Mount Geumgang resort is undesirable and decided to work closely together to elicit desirable action from North Korea.
