Tripitaka Korean Festival Opens at Haein Temple

Haein Temple in Hapcheon County, South Gyeongsang Province has kicked off a 45-day festival to celebrate the 1000th year of the creation of the Buddhist canon “Tripitaka Koreana.”

Under the title “Forest of Wisdom,” the temple will hold major exhibitions at five exhibition halls on the history and science behind the tripitaka and similar Buddhist canons from other countries.

Visitors may enjoy a beautiful six-kilometer trail, which has been created along a valley from the main event hall in Gaya village in Hapcheon to the temple. In addition, the Haein Art Project will showcase paintings and artworks by renowed Korean and foreign artists at the temple.
