Temperatures nationwide are expected to drop sharply soon with October just around the corner.
Most inland areas in the central region saw morning lows plunge by nearly ten degrees Celsius on Friday and cold winds are expected to cut through the nation starting from the afternoon.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that Seoul’s morning lows on Saturday will slide to seven degrees Celsius while southern regions will see morning lows hover around ten degrees Celsius.
In mountainous regions in Gangwon Province, temperatures will plummet to nearly zero degrees Celsius on Saturday for the first time during the season. Some inland areas in the southern regions are also expected to see their first frost.
The weather agency said that temperatures through early next week will stand at around five degrees lower than temperatures posted in similar periods in previous years.
