A survey finds that South Koreans think that the term “elderly” refers to a person who is over the age of 70.

According to a KBS poll on about two-thousand adults, 42 percent of the respondents said an elderly person is one who should be at least 70 years old.

When asked about what people should prepare most for retirement, 70 percent cited financial stability. However, only 44 percent said they are saving money for retirement.

Fifty-three percent said they want to live alone with their spouses when they are that stage in their lifetime, while a mere six percent said they want to live with their married children.

The Internet poll, conducted by a KBS institute last month, has a margin of error of plus or minus two-point-15 percentage points with a confidence level of 95 percent.
