UN Agency Estimates N.Korean Crop Growth

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations predicts that North Korea’s grain harvest volume will increase by more than four-percent this year.

The organization said in its report on the state of food and agriculture published on its Web site on Friday that it estimates North Korean crops will reach four-point-four million tons this year.

Experts attribute that to North Korea having used large amounts of fertilizer imported from China this year. In addition, they believe weather conditions were not bad compared with previous years, although there were heavy rains.
