A huge cluster of 42 stone tombs dating back to the Baekje Dynasty has been discovered in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province.

A cultural heritage research institute in Jeonju says the site of the Baekje era tombs was found during its survey of the area where the Jeonju-Wanju Innovative City will be built.

The tombs are concentrated in an hilly area and various other Baekje relics were also unearthed including accessories worn by the aristocrats and golden earrings.

The institute said the findings have great academic and research value.
