South Korean marathon hero Sohn Ki-jung dies at 90.

Korea's marathon hero Sohn Ki-jung who won the gold medal in the Berlin Olympics in 19-36 ... is dead. He was 90. Sohn had been on coma after being rushed to a Seoul hospital on Wednesday. He had been suffering from respiratory problems and complications from pneumonia and renal insufficiency. Sohn's triumphs brought hope and excitement to Koreans ... at the dark period when Korea was under Japan's colonial rule. After Korea's independence from Japan, Sohn served as vice president of the Korean Athletics Federation and a member of the Seoul Olympics Organizing Committee.
