Professors Present Ideas on Inter-Korean Peace, Unification

Yonsei University Professor Moon Jung-in said on Wednesday that an inter-Korean summit could be meaningful if the results meet certain criteria. He cited such developments as North Korea demonstrating tangible denuclearization efforts and South Korea proactively implementing the Special Zone of Peace and Cooperation in the West Sea, which is part of the October fourth inter-Korean declaration.

Moon made the remark in Seoul on Wednesday at the first policy seminar hosted by a private foundation for the unification of the Korean Peninsula. He added that it is not easy for the two Koreas to elicit new projects and agreements when the current Lee Myung-bak administration’s term doesn’t have much time left.
