S.Korea, China Agree to Improve Quality of Travel

South Korea and China have agreed to improve quality of travel between the two nations and to jointly address unlawful travel agencies in the two nations.

Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Choe Kwang-shik and his Chinese counterpart on Thursday held talks in Kunming, Yunnan Province and agreed to take measures to improve quality of travel through fair tours between the two nations.

Under the agreement, the two sides plan to actively improve accommodations, food, tour guidance and information systems and to adopt administrative sanctions on travel agencies that commit illegal practices.

Seoul and Beijing will produce more specific measures to improve quality of travel next year through working-level consultation based on the agreements in Kunming.
