Winter Arrives at Mt. Baekdu

Written: 2011-11-15 13:16:37Updated: 2011-11-15 17:34:20

Winter has already arrived at the peak of Mount Baekdu.

Cheonji, the crater lake at the top of the mountain, appears amid the fog and clouds. The mountain’s peak can be seen, and though mid-November, it is already covered in snow.

However, signs of late Autumn are still lingering at the bottom of the mountain.

Red fruits hang on mountain ash trees that are withstanding sharp, cold winds. A shy hare peeps out from behind a tree.

Water violently falls down at the Jangbaek Waterfall. The crystal clean water streams down through rocks.

With the arrival of winter, Mount Baekdu is poised to reveal its hidden beauty.
