Meanwhile, the Defense Ministry has expressed regret over the "not guilty" verdict handed out to the two U.S. soldiers.

However, the ministry said it holds the U.S. military's judiciary procedure in high esteem and that it would keep an eye on the outcome of the court martial on Sgt. Mark Walker.

The ministry was quick to respond that anti-American sentiment is undesirable at this point as it may threaten national security and Korea-U.S. relationship.

The ministry said Korea and the United States will work together to prevent the reoccurrence of such tragic accidents in the future. It also promised to join hands with the United States in broadening roads leading to training grounds and strengthening safety measures.
