Gov't to Form Organization to Promote Tourism in Southern Coast

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry plans to set up a permanent organization that will promote tourism in the nation’s southern coastal areas.

The ministry on Wednesday announced a set of measures to boost tourism in the region, which includes plans to form a tourism development association for the southern coast. The association will identify and promote competitive tour attractions in the area as well as develop tour products related to cruise trips.

The ministry also plans to set up duty free shops in the region to attract more tourists during the Yeosu Expo, which will run from May through August.
