More than 20-thousand ethnic Koreans were granted the right of permanent residence in the United States last year. Radio Korea said about 20-thousand-700 Koreans obtained permanent residence last year ...up more than five thousand from the previous year. The figure ranked Korea 13th in terms of the number of people issued permanent residence. About six-thousand-400 of them were Koreans who emigrated to the United States last year with the others Korean-Americans who have been residing there. The L.A.-based ethnic Korean broadcaster was quoting statistics from the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
