Obama Leads All Republican Candidates by Double Digits

A national general election match-up shows U.S. President Barack Obama leading all Republican presidential hopefuls by double digits.

The Suffolk University poll surveyed one-thousand-70 likely general election voters across the U.S. from March 21st to the 25th.

Obama led the most promising Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, by ten points. Forty-seven percent of respondents supported the incumbent president while 37 percent backed Romney.

In a match-up against former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum conducted by the Boston-based university, Obama won by 12 points with 49 percent of the vote.

Romney’s unfavorable rating shot up to 44 percent while his favorable rating stayed relatively flat at 38 percent. Obama’s favorable rating has been in the mid- to high 40s.
