Japan Readies Its Defense Missile System for Gwangmyongsong-3

Japan’s Kyodo News Agency reported Japan has completed positioning Patriot missiles in seven locations throughout the country ahead of North Korea’s planned launch of a satellite-tipped missile.

The Japanese Air Self-Defense Force was reported to have placed missile-intercepting Patriot missiles in three locations near the Tokyo metropolitan region, including its defense ministry and training grounds in Saitama Prefecture and Chiba Prefecture early on Saturday.

Japan’s air force also deployed the same defense missiles on four other locations on April third, including Okinawa.

In addition to the self-defense missiles, three Aegis cruisers with Standard-Missile 3 were deployed to the eastern China sea and the East Sea early on Saturday, ahead of North Korea’s launch.
