NK Suspends Chinese Company's Tour to Mt. Guemgang

Radio Free Asia reports that North Korea has suspended a Chinese tour operators cruise to Mount Geumgang that was scheduled to launch on April 14th.

Quoting a Chinese online news outlet, the U.S. broadcaster said the North’s Guidance Bureau of Special Zone for International Tour of Mount Geumgang notified the tour company about the suspension, explaining the tour could not begin until April 25th.

The Chinese company said discussions will now be held with North Korea to decide when to schedule the tour.

North Korea apparently suspended the cruise due to a lack of hotels, as it invited a large number of foreigners to several ceremonies that will be held around the birthday of late North Korean founder Kim Il-sung on April 15th.
