N. Korea Reiterates Threats Against S. Korea

North Korea’s Committee for Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland has reiterated threats that the Korean People’s Army issued on Monday.

The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency quoted the committee as saying on Tuesday that the North’s military has already declared it will take special action against South Korea. The committee added that South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and his supporters will not get away with debasing what it called the North’s supreme dignity, a reference to leader Kim Jong-un.

The committee’s statement came after the Supreme Command of the Korean People’s Army said on Monday that North Korea’s military will soon launch special action to crush what the North called the “reckless provocations of traitors” in South Korea.
