13th Jeonju Int'l Film Festival Opens

The 13th Jeonju International Film Festival opened for a nine-day run in North Jeolla Province on Thursday.

Top South Korean actors and directors, including Kang Soo-yeon, Cho Jae-hyun and Lim Kwon-taek, and roughly five-thousand fans from across the nation gathered to celebrate the opening of the film event.

The movie, “Sister” by French-Swiss filmmaker Ursula Meier was screened as the opening film.

A total of 184 films from 42 countries will be screened during the festival.

This year, the festival sought to expand the scope of communication with the audience by coming up with diverse programs, including animated films that families can enjoy.
