N. Korea Says Yeonpyeong Shelling Doesn't Compare to Future Action

Following its threat Monday of special action involving an armed revolution against South Korea, North Korea has said that the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island would not compare in scale to its planned action.

A North Korean website addressing South Korea in an editorial earlier this week said that Pyongyang has notified specific targets and the duration for the upcoming special action, adding that the regime's warnings of an armed revolution are not empty words.

North Korean state-run media, including the Korean Central News Agency, has hinted of another provocation and continues to strongly criticize South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.

Experts have expressed concerns over the North’s continuous threats, stressing that South Korea should remain alert and not lower its guard.
