Chinese Tours to N.Korea Noticeably Resume

Radio Free Asia says that Chinese people resumed tours to North Korea via various means of transport ahead of the May first International Workers' Day holiday.

The U.S. broadcaster says the northeastern Chinese city of Harbin began direct chartered flights to Pyongyang on Friday.

The tour to North Korea includes stops in the North Korean capital, Geumgang and Myohyang Mountains, Nampo and Gaeseong cities, as well as the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjeom.

A vehicle tour from China to Rason, North Korea, which was suspended in October, is also known to have resumed Saturday.

Voice of America also reported Tuesday that a group train tour departing from China's Tumen City and touring the Mount Chilbo area in North Korea recently resumed after a six-month suspension.
