China:

South Korea and China’s chief negotiators for the six-party talks met in Beijing and agreed on closer cooperation and discussions.

Korea’s Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Lim Sung-nam met with his Chinese counterpart Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei at a Foreign Ministry office in Beijing Thursday morning.

During the meeting, China conveyed its intentions to try stopping North Korea from engaging in any further provocations.

This proactive approach comes amid rising concerns by the international society over the possibility of North Korea conducting a third nuclear test.

However, China reportedly said that there is no specific evidence supporting that North Korea is gearing up for such a test.
