Int. Court of Justice Opens Legal Review of N. Korean Actions

The International Court of Justice has reportedly launched a legal review into North Korea’s terrorist threats against South Korean media outlets and the government in order to determine if the acts are criminal.

A high-ranking South Korean government official said the review also targets North Korea's recent attempts to scramble private South Korean airliners' GPS systems through the use of electronic jamming signals.

The official said that the International Court of Justice is voluntarily launching the investigation, and when it clearly determines that Pyongyang's actions were crimes, North Korea will be internationally stigmatized as a criminal state.

The government official said the international community is increasing its pressure on North Korea to prevent further provocations, as permanent members of the UN Security Council urge North Korea not to hold additional nuclear tests and the International Court of Justice conducts a legal review into terrorist threats.
