The Gyeongju Research Institute of Cultural Heritage says relics have been unearthed in an ancient tomb of the Silla Dynasty in the Joksem district in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province.

The tomb is a mound 23 meters in diameter and belonged to a member of the ruling class during the Silla Dynasty.

The institute said that many artifacts have been unearthed from the tomb including gold earrings, a chest ornament made with glass beads and a silver belt ornament.

The institute expects the tomb will provide precious research materials to study the Silla Dynasty between the late fifth century and early sixth century.
