Following Roh Moo-hyun's victory in Thursday's presidential election, keen attention is being paid to the composition of a transition team charged with overseeing the transfer of power. The team aims to undertake work from the incumbent government and Cheong Wa Dae, the presidential office, until Feb. 25 next year, just a day before Roh is sworn in. It will also play the role of putting the final touches to Roh's five-year government blueprint. The team will also indicate who is likely to be given key posts in the next government. A key aide to Roh said the team will consist of people who fit with Roh's reform platform and understand the direction of his policy, adding that he will recommend a team president and two or three key members. The team president will then select the other members. Another key aide to Roh said Roh will make his choice after Minister of Government Administration Lee Keun-sik makes a report to him in regard to the transition team.
