NK Says It Has No Plans for Nuclear Test Yet

North Korea said on Saturday that it has no plans to carry out a third nuclear test for now.

North Korea’s spokesperson for the foreign ministry said through a statement on June eleventh that the South Korean government has been attempting to heighten tension on the Korean Peninsula, but North Korea has no plans to carry out such a test.

The statement was reported through North Korean state media while the international community has been focused on observing the North after it failed to successfully launch a long-range missile in April.

North Korea’s previous nuclear tests were conducted in 2006 and 2009, both following long-range missile launches.
