Teachers' Organization Protests Prosecution's Raid of School

A teachers' organization has condemned the prosecution’s raid of a middle school in Seoul on Thursday as part of an investigation into a female student's suicide.

The Korean Federation of Teachers’ Association (KFTA) on Friday held a news conference in front of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office, claiming that the prosecution violated teachers’ authority and rights by raiding their office during school hours.

The federation called on the prosecution to immediately halt the excessive investigation, saying the school has duly presented relevant documents to investigators. It added that the data seized in the recent raid had already been submitted to police.
