Real-time images of the Dokdo Islets provided by KBS will be on display at some 360 Korea Exchange Bank branches nationwide.
The Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the Korea Exchange Bank and a broadcast association called KBK, which manages the Dokdo image service, signed a memorandum of understanding on their collaboration on Wednesday.
Customers visiting the Korea Exchange Bank across the country will be able to view real-time pictures of the easternmost islets on a television screen from mid-July.
The KBS streaming is currently provided at 45 sites, including the central government complex and the National Assembly, but it is the first time the service will be on display at all branches of a financial institution.
KBS has provided around-the-clock streaming of the Dokdo islets since May 2005. Images shot by a panoramic camera installed one hundred meters above sea level on the islets are then transmitted via the Mugunghwa-3 communications satellite.
