N. Korea Using "Marshal" Title to Describe Kim Jong-un

North Korean media were found to be attaching the title “Marshal” when describing its young ruler Kim Jong-un.

North Korean media had previously used terms “comrade,” or “supreme commander,” when referring to Kim but the title “Marshal” has been used since last Wednesday when media announced that Kim was given the title “Marshal of the republic.”

The latest move is aimed at raising Kim’s status and authority.
