South Korean singer PSY’s latest dance pop single “Gangnam Style” has received more than 40-million hits on YouTube since its release on July 15, 2012.

The agency for PSY said that the music video’s sensation on YouTube proves spawning global attention to the singer who has never performed on stages overseas.

The music video came in second on the iTunes music video chart in the U.S. and Canada and has also topped the music download chart for a month in South Korea.

Another of PSY’s music videos “Oppa is Just My Style,” the variation of the song “Gangnam Style” from a woman’s perspective, had received 10-million hits on YouTube as of Sunday.
