The 23rd Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue is scheduled to be held in Dalian, China on September 25th. All of the member nations in the six-way nuclear talks will also be participating at the gathering.

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry says that it is highly likely that North Korea will take part in the event as it is being held in China. It also noted that the participating countries are expected to discuss comprehensive issues, such as Pyeongyang’s nuclear program.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Cho Tae-young says the deputy representatives for the six-part talks are expected to take part in this year’s meeting as they did in the past.

The Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue was launched in 1993 by the University of California’s Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation, which invites diplomats, defense officials and scholars from six countries including North Korea every year.
