The funeral for Reverend Moon Sun-myung, founder of the Unification Church, was held Saturday at the church's holy ground in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

The service began as the casket was carried into the CheongShim Peace World Center as Moon's wife and Reverend Moon Hyung-jin, their seventh son and religious heir to his father, followed the procession.

The funeral proceeded with a prayer, laying of flowers and a video screening of the late founder's life achievements.

Reverend Moon Hyung-jin, who is the International President of the Unification Church, said that his father's indomitable spirit is necessary to overcome all oppressions and hatred left in the world.

He vowed to build God's Kingdom of Heaven through the life and vision of true love his father demonstrated.

The church estimates 35-thousand mourners from home and abroad attended the funeral, including former Albanian President Alfred Moisiu.

Moon died September third at the age of 92 due to complications from pneumonia.
