North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has supervised a live fire military drill involving drones and cruise missile interceptors amid heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that Kim on Wednesday personally led an exercise of super-precision drone planes attacking targets and a firing drill of self-propelled flak rockets destroying enemy cruise missile coming in at a low altitude.

The agency reported Kim as saying the planes are very fast and precise in discerning targets.
KCNA also quoted Kim as saying the exercises confirmed that North Korea’s drones are capable of striking any enemy target in the South.

He also expressed satisfaction with the performance of self-propelled anti-aircraft rockets after they destroyed a target mimicking a Tomahawk cruise missile.
