The Icheon “Rice Cultural Festival” is being held in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, in light of declining rice consumption every year.

Rice for two-thousand people was prepared in Icheon, in line with the region’s reputation as the land of rice.

The rice was selling like hotcakes along with fresh kimchi.

On the sidelines of the event, those renowned for their rice cooking skills competed to make the best-tasting rice.

Around 30-thousand foreigners took part in the festival on the first day.

The Icheon Festival has been selected as a representative agricultural festival by the Culture Ministry. It will be held for four days through Sunday.
