'Masquerade' Dominates Daejong Film Awards with 15 Wins

South Korean film “Masquerade” dominated the 49th Daejong Film Awards this year, winning for best film and in more than a dozen other categories.

“Masquerade” captured a total of 15 awards on Tuesday, including best director, at the awards ceremony in KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul.

The film's lead actor, Lee Byung-hun, who played two roles in the movie, won the best actor award, while Cho Min-soo won the best actress award for her role in “Pieta.” Lee also won a popularity award given out by Toyota Motor Korea.

The best supporting actor and actress awards went to Ryu Seung-yong of “Masquerade” and to Kim Hae-suk of “The Thieves.”
