College Entrance Exam Under Way Nationwide

Roughly 668-thousand people are sitting for South Korea's rigorous college entrance exam ahead of the 2013 academic year.

The College Scholastic Ability Test began Thursday at roughly one-thousand-190 testing sites throughout the country. Test-takers are prohibited from having mobile phones, digital cameras or any other kind of electronic device on them during the test.

During the exam, cars will be banned from driving within 200 meters of designated testing centers, and planes will be banned from taking off or landing during the listening portion of foreign language tests.

The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, which draws up the college entrance exam annually, plans to post the answers shortly after testing ends around 5:30 p.m.
