More Korean Language Institutes to be Established Overseas

The Human Resources Development Service of Korea and King Sejong Institute Foundation have agreed to open Korean language schools in 15 countries which send workers to South Korea.

The service expects the agreement will help enhance foreign workers’ proficiency in Korean language and thus improve their job performance.

Currently, 90 Sejong Hakdang, as the schools are called, are teaching the Korean language and culture in 44 countries.

Since 2011, eight Korean language schools for foreign employees, including one in Vietnam, have been operating to prepare local candidates who plan to work in South Korea.
