The South Korean Ministry of Defense expressed its anger towards North Korea’s threats of war on Saturday, saying North Korea’s warnings to break the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula are intolerable.

The defense ministry said it would thoroughly punish North Korea in the case of a provocation, saying the recent Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint exercises conducted with the U.S. were defense drills against North Korean threats.

The statement added the South Korean military is watching military movements in the North very closely and is ready to retaliate in the case of a North Korean strike.

The South Korean military said North Korean military troops are in the middle of winter drills and show no signs yet of provocations.
