The restoration of the Seokga Pagoda in Bulkuk Temple in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province is proceeding smoothly.

The one-thousand-year-old pagoda is undergoing repairs for the first time in history. It has a seriously damaged base.

After the base is finished being dismantled by June this year, the ground it sits on will be examined.

The repair of the relic began in March and be completed by June next year, six months earlier than planned.

Dismantled stone panels in good condition will be cleaned and reused. However, new granite panels will replace seriously damaged areas.

The entire restoration process will be open to the public.
