DUP Chair Calls for Deployment of Special Ambassador to N. Korea

The chairman of the main opposition Democratic United Party (DUP) has called for immediate inter-Korean dialogue and the deployment of a special ambassador to North Korea.

Moon Hee-sang said during a DUP meeting on Friday that he has been suggesting the deployment of a special ambassador to North Korea whenever he's had the opportunity to meet with President Park Geun-hye.

He mentioned former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former President Bill Clinton, South Korean lawmaker Park Ji-won or former DUP chairman Moon Sung-geun as possible candidates.

He then denounced the North’s entry ban on South Korean workers to the Gaeseong Industrial Park, saying that it is an act of stabbing the heart of its own people.
