The U.S. Customs Service says U.S. inspectors will screen U.S.-bound cargo containers before they leave Busan port in South Korea. The agreement between the two countries marks the latest development in an ongoing effort to prevent terrorists from smuggling nuclear and other weapons into the United States. Roughly five-point-seven million cargo containers enter U.S. seaports each year. Japan, China, Singapore and Germany are among the countries that have agreed to participate in Custom's container security initiative, which plays a key role in President Bush's homeland security strategy.
