South Korean rapper PSY's new music video, "Gentleman," is off to an explosive start with nearly 40 million YouTube hits in just two days since its release.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, the music video was viewed 39-point-four million times on YouTube, and at this rate, even one million hits could be possible on the fifth day of release.
The music video released at 7 p.m. Saturday topped one million hits in 16 hours, and 20 million in 24 hours.
PSY's previous global hit "Gangnam Style" reached 20 million hits on the U.S. video-streaming site in 26 days.
"Gentleman" has also topped iTunes charts in 17 countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Finland and its ranking continuously climbs, passing the 30-something range in the U.S. where the song was released ten hours later than in Korea.
Immediately following the music video's release, U.S. Billboard magazine put "Gentleman" on the main page of its web site, introducing the Korean rapper's latest single.
