China’s top nuclear negotiator, Wu Dawei, will visit Washington next week to hold discussions on North Korea policies.

Sources related to the six-way nuclear talks said Wu is in the final stage of coordinating a meeting with U.S. Special Envoy for North Korea Policy Glyn Davies.

Wu’s trip comes after Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry agreed during talks in Beijing last Saturday for their countries to swiftly hold high-level meetings on North Korea’s provocations.
