Gov't to Send 400 Students of Special High Schools Abroad for Job Training

A group of 400 students of specialized high schools and vocational high schools, called “Meister schools,” will be sent abroad for job and skills training.

The Ministry of Education announced on Monday that it selected 400 seniors from the Meister schools specializing in 25 fields.

The ministry said the students will undergo pre-departure training on the language and culture of the country they will be sent to and receive overseas training in their respective fields for 12 weeks.

The overseas job training for high school students began in 2011. Last year, 428 students were sent to 12 countries, including Australia and Canada. Out of that total, 84 landed jobs abroad.
