500 Relics of Paleolithic Era Found in Yeoncheon

Roughly 500 relics from the Paleolithic Period have been excavated in Yeoncheon Country, Gyeonggi Province.

County officials on Thursday said the Institute of Korean Prehistory conducted an excavation in the area over the last month and discovered some 500 stonework relics from the late Paleolithic Era, including blades.

The institute said that the geological strata in which the relics were found are comprised of three layers, providing useful information to understand the culture of the period.
