South Korea’s Prime Minister, Chung Hong-won, said South Korea will continue its efforts to normalize the joint industrial park it operates with North Korea in Gaeseong. Chung’s statement follows the Unification Ministry’s decision to pull all South Korean workers out of the zone on Friday.

Chung made the comments in response to questions from lawmakers at the National Assembly early on Saturday about whether the South Korean government had run out of “cards to play” regarding North Korea.

Chung added North Korea did not show any gestures for talks and said Pyongyang should come to talks in a sincere manner.
