Remaining S. Korean Workers to Leave Gaeseong on Monday

All 50 remaining South Korean workers at the Gaeseong Industrial Complex in North Korea are scheduled to return home Monday following the government's decision to pull them out.

The South Koreans set to leave Gaeseong include officials of the Gaeseong Industrial District Management Committee and maintenance workers. Their names and work schedule were sent to North Korea on Sunday, and they're expected to cross the border via the Dorasan Inter-Korea Transit Office around 5 p.m. Monday.

Ahead of their departure, the remaining workers are said to have taken protective measures for their facilities at the inter-Korean business venture.

Over the weekend, 125 South Korean employees of the complex returned home after Pyongyang's rejection of talks last Friday to keep the facility open. Following Monday's pullout, operations at the industrial park will in effect shut down for the first time since production began in late 2004.
