Ryu Strikes Out 12 in Dodger's 6-2 Win

South Korean baseball standout Ryu Hyun-jin led the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday with a record 12 strikeouts.

The rookie pitcher retired 14 of 15 batters after giving up a one-shot home run in the first inning to capture his third victory in the U.S. major leagues. He also dropped a single into right field for his first RBI.

Ryu told ESPN after the game he was “really thankful that the game turned out the way it did.”

He was also ushered back on the field by Dodger’s employees to join South Korean singing sensation PSY and pose for photos and trade memorabilia.
